moc.liamg|srefuehr#srefueH reniaR is the Resident Representative for the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty (FNF) in Indonesia, and also Senior Fellow of the Atlas Economic Research Foundation in Washington DC.

Since 1983 he has researched economic and social developments in the People’s Republic of China. He received a Masters Degree from the Free University of Berlin with a thesis on the impact of China’s financial sector reforms on the country’s transition to a market economy.

After some years in the private sector, he joined the German Foundation for International Development where he acted as Programme Officer in the Centre for Public Administration and the Centre for Economic and Social Policies. In 1995 he started consulting and later working for FNF.

Before moving to Indonesia in 2007, he lived almost eight years in Bangkok/Thailand, where he was responsible for the Foundation’s projects in Vietnam, the Philippines, and Malaysia. He also supported the development of a network of free market think tanks from around Asia, the Economic Freedom Network Asia (EFN Asia).
